Aircraft Transporting Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Crack in Windshield

A jet ferrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday due to a fissure was discovered in the plane's windshield, per an announcement which confirmed that the secretary was unharmed.

"The plane landed based on standard protocol and everyone onboard, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is unharmed," a spokesperson said in a social media post.

He was traveling back from a brief trip to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.

This occurrence isn't the first occasion that a United States armed forces jet transporting a top government figure has encountered technical problems.

Earlier this year, a American military jet transporting the US Secretary of State to the German city of Munich was compelled to turn back to Washington DC after encountering a technical issue.
