British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The athlete was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his close associates.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

This update on his health comes as the sports world had expressed its support for the champion in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
