Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

The comedian

Acclaimed writer for children and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

An official for the publisher stated: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was taken subsequent to an review of allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable involving female individuals.

The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

He has published in excess of 40 works combined, including a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO last fall.
