Hulu is Developing a Far Cry TV Series from the Minds of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The newest Far Cry instalment that gamers dived into was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the bad guy, Antón, and debuted during October 6, 2021. As a series, it is known for celebrating chaos and mayhem with equal enthusiasm, all while weaving captivating, ideologically themed stories. Little surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry limited-run show attracted two visionaries whose creations have embodied all of those elements.

What to Expect

Based on Ubisoft's successful video game property, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The anthology will also parallel the video games' style by introducing a different location and cast of characters in subsequent series.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as showrunners on the series through their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had magnificent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are working together for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, compelling, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to thank our partners at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this popular property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also feature in the show, but currently, we are unsure of what role that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently renewed for another season, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new comprehensive agreement with the producer.

“Being able to collaborate with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally supportive, placing faith in us with one of the most iconic video-game worlds ever created. And along the way, my FX family constantly supports me with their ongoing belief and backing.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology show. Each game is a interpretation of a theme, the same way each season of Fargo is a adaptation on a theme,” explained Hawley. “To develop a epic action show that can shift from season to season, while always exploring the core of people through this multifaceted and chaotic viewpoint, is a ultimate goal. I’m eager to partner with Rob and bring our shared unconventional, daring style to the audience.”

A release window for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not yet been revealed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
