Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.

Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes across the region in retaliation for a significant and ongoing assault against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any impact is unclear and the American officials has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - reported they have shot down missiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That US-Israeli operation - launched at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck sites linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the government.

Regional Fallout

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.

It said wreckage landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
