Los Angeles Erupts in Jubilation as Los Angeles Dodgers Claim Second World Series Championship
The City of Angels witnessed citywide festivities after the Dodgers won a nail-biting seven-match World Series championship. Supporters across the globe united with local residents in celebration, marking the initial time in 25 years that a franchise has secured back-to-back championships.
Celebration Parade Attracts Enormous Turnout
Los Angeles area celebrations featured a downtown parade on Monday morning, a ticketed rally at the team's home stadium, and impromptu gatherings throughout the city.
Social media videos depict thousands of Angelenos packing city center avenues, many carrying homemade signs and team flags. The team was seen traveling proudly on a double-decker bus through the masses, hoisting the championship trophy high.
“My focus is already about the third time we’re going to achieve this,” Shohei Ohtani stated through an translator.
The parade route ended at Dodger Stadium, where the team walked out to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and Ice Cube cruising a light blue classic car around the field.

However, Mark Walter received a less warm welcome at the celebration. Video footage from the event seem to depict Walter walking onstage to a combination of applause and boos, with negative shouts punctuating his address.
The championship served as a bright spot in what has been a trying year for the city. An approximate 225,000 people showed up to the Dodgers’ victory parade last year, and according to Dodgers player one athlete, supporters this year demonstrated equal or greater support.
