Mohamed Salah Issues Regret to Squad, Reveals Curtis Jones
Jones has disclosed that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the entire Liverpool squad following the controversy from his televised remarks.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a European match following voicing frustrations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, please accept my apology.’”
Arne Slot has chosen not to comment publicly on whether he received a personal apology from the veteran striker.
Team Unity
He emphasized that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
The midfielder also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “It's clear there are certain ways you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the period after the initial controversy. The player is convinced the Salah's words were not designed to harm the team.
“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a place of caring,” he finished. “That chapter is closed and we’re building chemistry, getting results and on a positive run.”
