Performer Denies Anti-Vaxxer Stance After Narrating Disputed Pandemic Documentary

Liam Neeson has provided his voice to a new documentary that challenges the legitimacy of vaccinations and lauds ex- health official RFK Jr.

The Documentary's Provocative Foundation

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is based on a popular book written by a controversial scientist, who became famous during the pandemic for assertions that the illness was caused by a problematic version of the flu vaccine.

The book's writing partner, a producer, has previously authored books with controversial radio host a known commentator. He wrote online celebrating Neeson's role in the project.

A Firm Statement

The team of the actor have provided a response firmly refuting suggestions that he subscribes to anti-vaccine beliefs.

"Many recognize that unethical practices might be present within the drug industry, but that cannot be conflated with rejection of vaccines," the response states. "Neeson has never been, and is not, anti-vax. His considerable work with the UN children's agency highlights his enduring support for public-health initiatives."

It added that the actor had no hand in the project's messaging and that concerns about its assertions are best addressed to the creators.

Central Assertions Within the Film

As presented, the voiceover read by Neeson makes several strong statements:

• It suggests that pro-immunization voices have demanded "unconditional submission" to government bodies.
• It posits that "medical science has become deeply politicised."
• Robert F Kennedy Jr is interviewed saying, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they just aren't safely tested."
• The film takes aim at pandemic restrictions, claiming they caused severe distress that cost thousands of lives.
• On the topic of the immunizations, it cites a report that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "risky trials."

Previous Background and Ongoing Debates

The documentary also references a 2004 BBC documentary about clinical trials on children, which was later the topic of a correction by the corporation for violations of guidelines.

Recently, Kennedy called on the CDC to revise its longstanding position that there is no connection between immunizations and autism. This supposed link is repeated in the documentary, despite a fresh analysis from the World Health Organisation confirming no such link has been found.

A Past Position of Advocacy

Standing in contrast to the documentary's message, Neeson has previously shown clear advocacy for vaccines in his capacity as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

In 2022, he called vaccines as "a remarkable human success story," noting that "The discourse about vaccines in lately has forgotten how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in our history."

"Plague of Corruption" ends with Neeson's script saying, "This isn't the conclusion of our story. This is the start of a new chapter."
