The Comedy Series Brassic Calls it a Day with Tarantino-Inspired Finale
Joseph Gilgun and Danny Brocklehurst are bringing the curtain down on their humorous show about a tight-knit bunch of endearing rogues running riot in a countryside town in Lancashire. One could anticipate the last episode to be a nostalgic highlight reel of booze, drugs and cheeky thievery. However, the atmosphere turns much more somber as Vinnie (Gilgun) and the crew barricade themselves in a bar with criminal figure Davey MacDonagh for a climactic 50th episode apparently inspired by the filmmaker Quentin Tarantino.

The Series All Creatures Great and Small
9pm on Channel 5
The animal-related escapades are all fine, but this superior period drama proves its worth with emotional character development. The Iris Affair

Anyone afraid of insects will want to skip ahead as the sixth episode starts, before a tense standoff, reminiscent of a Mexican or Sardinian scenario ensues, when Cameron compels Iris to exchange her journal for the captured Joy – else she’ll be “riddled with bullets” from Meski’s menacing drone … How to get out of this one?
