Tragedy Hits as Unintentional Blast at Police Station in Kashmir Region Under Indian Control Results in Nine Fatalities
A catastrophic blast at a law enforcement facility in the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir has led to the deaths of nine individuals and harm to thirty-two others, according to official statements.
The event occurred when a stockpile of impounded blast substances accidentally blew up during management operations.
Chronology of Occurrences
The blast happened on the evening of Friday at the Nowgam law enforcement facility, where blast substances seized from Faridabad region in the northern province of Haryana were being kept briefly.
Local police chief announced that the explosives were scheduled for technical investigation when a "very unfortunate" accident during processing resulted in their explosion at approximately 23:20 in the evening.

Security forces asserted that this was an "accidental detonation" and not a terrorist attack. "Any other speculation regarding the origin of this occurrence is unneeded," emphasized the security director during a journalist meeting.
The security post endured significant harm from the detonation, with neighboring structures also being impacted by the powerful blast.
Aftermath and Casualties
Several automobiles were "engulfed in flames and turned into burned shells, with debris scattered across the location," according to official reports.
"The force of the explosion was such that some human remains were found in adjacent homes, approximately 100-200 metres away the law enforcement facility," stated an authority informant.
Most of the casualties were law enforcement personnel, along with scientific examination staff, two crime scene photographers, and a clothing professional who was present with the personnel.

The region's Lieutenant Governor expressed commiserations and confirmed that an investigation had been commissioned into the catastrophic occurrence.
"I have ordered a investigation to ascertain the reason of the inadvertent detonation. Extremely pained by the loss of precious lives due to extremely tragic inadvertent detonation at Nowgam police station in the Srinagar area. My condolences to the grieving relatives. I pray for quick healing of the harmed," wrote the leader on digital platforms.
